Vinícius José Paixão de Oliveira Júnior, better known as Vinícius Júnior or Vini Jr (São Gonçalo, July 12, 2000), is a Brazilian footballer who also has Spanish nationality. He currently plays for Real Madrid, playing as a left winger.
In June 2017, Vinícius appeared in 39th position on a list by the English newspaper The Telegraph of the best Under-21 players in the world. He was the only South American to appear on that list. In 2017, the striker entered the history of world football. At just 16 years old, he was sold by Flamengo to Real Madrid for 45 million euros. This amount represented, at the time, the 2nd largest sale in the history of Brazilian football, behind only the sale of Neymar, and even the highest amount ever paid by a footballer under 19 years of age. On May 28, 2022, he scored the goal that gave Real Madrid its 14th Champions League title. Currently, his career is managed by Play9 agency.
